Talking Jesus
Session Five
READ
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Film 5 - The Gospel Story
Today's film includes stories from five different people about how God's story was good news for them. Notice the different ways their stories connect with God's story.
1. How have the themes of God's story connected with your own story?
2. Practise telling God's story - and keep it to under one minute! Go - start the stopwatch!

Teaching 5 - Sharing God’s Story
Creation: Awe and wonder at God's amazing creation was the point of connection between Samuel's story and the big God story. He was amazed to discover that Creator God could love him intimately. What impact does the natural world have on your appreciation of God's character?
Fall: Sadly our world has been damaged by sin. Danny discovered 'peace at last' when he allowed God to take his broken life and make it new. He wanted to exchange his broken story for God's good news story. Are there people you are praying for who are reaching that point in their lives
Redemption: Raj worked hard to be loved. But members of her own family rejected her. Her life was transformed when she discovered Jesus the Redeemer - the one who died on the cross to give her a new life. Practise explaining the impact of the cross, as you think about the different people you are praying for.
Hope: Practical action and a few well-chosen words made all the difference for John and Linda as they faced the agony of losing their son. Who do you know who needs to experience God's love through practical action?
Emily summed up the gospel in a few words as she explained her artwork. How can you explain God's story?
Like Shaevon can you take inspiration from the way Jesus interacted with the woman at the well (John 4: 4-30, 39-42)?

My Story
Taking Frank's advice as a storyteller, what would you say if someone asked you 'What exactly do you believe?'
What vocabulary would you use? Remember.. listen well. Ask questions. Be surprising. Invite people into God's story.

What are you taking home from this session?
PRAY
Let’s end this session praying together for each other and for our friends and family who don’t yet know Jesus.
